Our Sunday Interdenominational Worship was held in an outdoor chapel (wooden benches surrounded by rocks and tall pine trees). The service was led by college students who volunteer to lead worship in the National Parks.
As we drove south toward Hot Springs, we said hello to a large buffalo having breakfast near the roadway. He ignored the camera that I pointed out the window to take his photo. Later, we encountered prairie dogs who scrambled into their abodes when cars slowed for a glimpse of these curious creatures.
Our campsite tonight is near the Angostura Recreation Area, just south of Hot Springs. This lake was created by a dam built in the late 1940's, and provides lake-side camping. Sunday boaters (jet skis, sailboats, pontoon boats and small cruising boats) were scooting across the lake. One group of sailboats seemed to be enjoying a race - their sails tightened to catch the wind.
