Washington State Treasures

Back in the USA to sample Washington State natural wonders. Our travels took us to a favorite: Mount Rainier National Park. True to form, the weather was cool, rain mixed with fog for the first day in the park. We could not view this majestic mountain until the second day, when clouds lifted. Clouds swirled around the base of the mountain to make an enchanted view. Between rain showers, we managed to take a short hike to a waterfalls.

Traveling west toward the Pacific Ocean, we found a state park near the ocean. Brisk winds and cool temperatures kept us from sitting oceanside for long. Local residents report this as an unusually cool and rainy summer.
