A "must-see" stop in Wall, South Dakota to view the tourism at world famous Wall Drug. The town has grown, but free ice water is still offered to visitors. I was disappointed to hear that the school house (where I attended the first grade) was torn down to build a large, modern school building.
Our first stop was to visit Mount Rushmore and walk the Presidents Trail. Because of cool weather, the crowds were light and the scenery dramatic. The photo is dark, as clouds covered the sun. Winding down Iron Mountain Road, we found a campground in Custer State Park...Game Lodge Campground. The campground is close to a road that winds through a park where the buffalo, elk and the "deer and the antelope play". A bubbling stream is close to our campsite.
