Maine Mania

We love the coastland of Maine where tall green trees perch on rocky cliffs, with ocean swells crashing. Our Maine excursion began in Boothbay Harbor as we boarded a wooden schooner sailboat, The Lazy Jack, for a spirited sail in the Harbor. On to Rockport and Camden - home of many tall ships, lobster fisherman, and salty breezes. Acadia National Park was the highlight of our Maine adventure. This jewel near Bar Harbor (that's pronounced Bah-Haabah) has free buses that transport tourists to all the sites and towns. We toured the loop road with crashing waves, stopped at Jordan Pond for a view and refreshments and drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Our second day was spent near Northeast Harbor where we happened on an art festival and took a nature cruise to the Islands off the coast. Maine will remain as one of our favorite vacation spots.
