Adirondack Mountains New York

Forests of pine, aspen and birch surround lakes and rivers of the vast Adirondack Mountains. Our campsite was walking distance to the Ausable River with clear waters, where we launched the kayak. Lake Placid (site of the 1980 Olympics) was 10 miles away with shopping at Olympic Village. Whiteface Mountain winter ski resort beckoned to us, so we drove to the top of this 4000 foot giant, hiking to the summit for a spectacular view.

Wow these photos are spectacular. I like the one of Dick with the beautiful horizon in the background. -Carla
