Mustang Island - Padre Island

Windy is the word for today. We arrived at this beachside State park around 3 pm and quickly changed into beach attire for a walk to the seashore. The Gulf was pounding and water warm. The wind finally drove us back to the motorhome. This is a primitive spot (but there is water, electric hook-ups, television reception and wi-fi! There are only about 30 campsites available and a vast beach, behind sand dunes, with soft sand that hardens enough to allow cars to drive without getting stuck.
Seagulls and pelicans rule the beach. We watched the pelicans fishing along the shore.
