This grandiose cave is an underground wonderland, with gigantic rock formations and pools that were created millions of years ago. We took the self discovery tour of the Big Room and walked over a mile around the pathway to view the beauty of the cavern. In the afternoon, we joined a tour of the Kings Castle section where we viewed gigantic rock drapery, among the other formations. In the evening, we were entertained watching thousands of bats leave the Bat Cave entrance to feed on bugs during the night.
My recommendation is that you mark Carlsbad as a place to visit.
