Door County Symphonic Band

Sunday afternoon concert at the Crossroads of the Historical Village, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  A delightful way to spend a lazy afternoon.  As the Door County Symphonic Band players arrived, Dick wandered out -- trombone in hand - to request an opportunity to "sit-in" with the group.  They welcomed him to the band for the concert, providing him with a navy t-shirt uniform for the event.  Trombones were featured on several numbers:  "Seventy-six trombones", and others.

The Historical Village is a small replica of an early 19th century Door County town.  The Crossroads is at an intersection of the Green General Store, a one-room school house, a red barn, and a small church (my favorite).  The church had an organ that was moved from an early church to it's present location.  Behind the church is the Warren home, where free ice-cream was served to the crowd that gathered for the Sunday afternoon concert.
