Waterton Park's Wildlife

Waterton Lakes is the townsite of the Provincial Park that joins Glacier National Park. We drove to view one of the deep lakes on the north end of this park and came across a Black Bear, near the roadside. He proudly posed for the camera.

Later, we walked a trail to the falls near the campsite and were amazed at the Magpie birds that proudly struted their feathers for tourists. Such a magnificent bird with a name that does not fit.

This morning we were leaving the campsite and found a mother Mule Deer with her baby. She seemed used to the traffic on the street. The baby was small and had the newborn dappled coat.

A good day for viewing wildlife, indeed!
