Lost in Alabama - Found in Tennessee

Day two of our summer motorcruise was frustrating.  Despite having a GPS and Road Atlas, we found ourselves on the wrong roads.  Alas, it was my job as navigator that caused the confusion.  We reached northern Alabama late in the day...and found campgrounds in the Bankhead National Forrest totally booked.  The campground representatives directed us to a Marina with a few campsites.  "Just drive up the road and turn left at the place where the convenience store used to be," he said.  We wandered off and finally found a Marina with a space with electricity.  Thirty years ago, I would have found this an adventure.  Yesterday, I was frustrated.
Day three of our trip began with a drive toward the Natchez Trace Parkway.  We wandered through small towns, saw damage from recent wind storms and located the Parkway.  For the next 5 hours, we enjoyed a leisurely drive through tall hardwood trees, winding from Alabama into Tennessee.  Our tour ended just shy of our destination at the Land Between The Lakes.  We are spending the night at a small RV park in NW Tennessee.  My zest for travel has been found in Tennessee.

Well, now I have an idea about what our first cross-country trek will be like. And I hope I can as nicely about it as you just did.

Bon voyage, Marge & Dick.
