Leaving early to beat the heat of mid-day, we paddled up to the end of Inks Lake and found people jumping from a cliff to the water below. Signs warning of rocks didn't seem to frighten the many young and old swimmers. Devils Waterhole it is called and the locals told stories of many broken limbs from people who aren't lucky enough to avoid hitting a granite rock below.
Texas is hot in late May, although the humidity is about half of Florida's sauna-like environment. Tonight is free concert from a local band. Should I wear my western hat?
Thanks to Kindle, I have enjoyed two books on this trip. Our TV reception is nil and the cellphone coverage poor.
