Garden of the Gods is a city park in Colorado Springs. This lovely red rock paradise was given to the city (years ago) by an Iowan. This former owner stated in his will that the land should belong to the city with two stipulations: the park should be free to everyone and no building should ever be built on the property. The city erected a visitor's center across the road from the park and charges for a bus tour, but no entrance fee.
