Cold and Wet Weather

Our second day in the glorious Rocky Mountain National Park started wrong, when we missed the turn (despite having maps and a GPS) and drove 25 miles out of the way. The mistake took us through a canyon filled with purple flowers (Columbine, we think). After our recovery, we entered the park and found two hiking trails of interest. One trail led us through snowbanks around a tree-lined lake. It was raining but we layered with sweaters and raingear. The second took us back into a canyon where there is a small waterfalls. Average temperature for most of the day was in the high 50's. Br-r-r-r.
